  • On Friday, November 22, CARP Bay Area held their second “Peace Starts With Me” Campus Event at Chabot College with the message of “Education Empowering Peacemakers.”

     

    The vision for these Campus Events is to offer principled education of heart and character on the campus level and encouraging more faculty, students, and community leaders to stand up for these values. Preparations were made from the beginning of the semester, and CARP members have been anticipating for the day of the event in excitement. 


  • This past Thanksgiving weekend, BAFC held a Thanksgiving Workshop for the middle schoolers of our community. The theme for our workshop was “Expand My Heart,” which means to open up our heart to love others even though they may be different from you and to love everyone with a heart of sincerity and forgiveness.


  • San Francisco, United States - The Spirituality and Justice Initiative of the Coalition of Faith-Based Organizations organized two side-meetings to the annual conference of the American Society of Criminology.

     

    Building on the momentum of previous meetings held in Vienna, Austria, the coalition hosted a working group meeting at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis hotel on November 12, 2019, and an interfaith program at the historic Grace Cathedral the following day.

     

    Speakers and commentators emphasized the importance of developing partnerships between faith-based organizations (FBOs) and UN agencies, as well as with national and local governments. They discussed the relevance to criminal justice and crime prevention of faith-based agents and institutions, as well as the core religious values, principles and best practices common to many religious traditions.


  • At the November breakfast at the Bay Area Family Church, Rev James Finley brought a message on "Walking In Faith". The Father's House Band song a number of original songs which were all excellent. The food was delicious featuring an early turkey dinner for breakfast.
