We had an inspiring Parent's Day Awards Ceremony at the Bay Area Family Church this Saturday, July 27. More than 100 people attended.
We awarded 13 couples and single parents -- 12 received Excellence in Parenting Award framed certificates and a $25 Visa gift card, and Lance & Keisha Riley of Oakland were chosen as our local Parents of the Year 2019 and received a beautiful cherry wood plaque and a $100 Visa gift card. (Thank you Bay Area Family Church for funding these gifts which the awardees greatly appreciated).
Bento Leal served as MC and the program included:
8:30am - Continental breakfast, coffee, tea, juice in the church lobby.
9:15am - Program started in the sanctuary
- Welcome by Bento Leal, Coordinator of the Parents' Day Council of Northern California, explaining that the Parents' Day Council is a national project of Universal Peace Federation-USA founded by Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon & Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon promoting world peace through healthy families.
